Las Aguilas del Tamiami
______________________________________
Jorge Fernandez took the mound last Sunday for his first start of the season. Las Aguilas faced the former champs Artemisa last Sunday. With two pitchers injured, one out for personal reasons and other one taking an one game suspension, Coach Cabrera was limited with just three pitchers, two of them playing for the first time in the season. Jorge was the starting pitcher who at that point had thrown 4 complete innings in 2 games. Fernandez, with a fastball velocity in the mid-80's, held the sluggers from Artemisa to only 2 runs and 2 hits in 6 completes innings. Las Aguilas manage to make one run in the bottom of the 7th inning, but two strikeouts with the bases loaded blew the chances for the team to score in that inning. After that the team allowed 6 runs most of them coming from base on balls. in the bottom 8 Xavier Gomez connected a triple and later score, but that wasn't enough. Las Aguilas lost their 3rd straight in the season and 15th in a row coming from last season.
The team is in need of some fresh arms that can fit in their rotation so they can come back to the race. This sunday the team face Rivas who is in 2nd place in the North division. With a win over Rivas the team will tie with them in the second spot in the division. The game is schedule to start at 2:30, Field 5. DO NOT MISS IT.
