He Did It Again!!!!!!!!!!

Las Aguilas won their second straight game this season. A 5-1 victory over the angels in a game that lasted 8 2/3 innings with just one more out to go the water made It imposible to continue. Gilbert Garcia got 2 RBI in the game capitalizing the offensive part. Meanwhile Kyle Roberts got his 3rd win of the season in 7 innings of work allowing just one run. Roberts ERA is now 1.77 (second best in the league). This is the second straight multi hit game for Angel Mestre, Cesar Echaverry and Gilbert Garcia. The entire team is contributing offensively; Juan Berrios hit the ball against the center field fence for a really long single. Xavier Gomez hit a double and two singles with an RBI.

 

-Kyle Roberts also set a new team record for innings straight without a run allowed (15 1/3).

 

With this victory and a lost of La vinotinto against Almendares, Las Aguilas are now only 2 games behind La Vinotinto for that last spot in the playoffs. Things are getting interesting at the end of the season for both teams. With only 6 games left (not counting game under protest) for Las Aguilas they will face twice La Vinotinto to fight for that 3rd place in their division.

 

Las Aguilas have allowed only one run in their last 3 wins. And have scored 24 times. Next game is this sunday against Bravos del Callao who also are fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Lets see if Las Aguilas can keep it going a make it 3 straight. SP Jorge Fernandez.
