Aguilas Fly High Over Habana In Extras

Las Aguilas del Tamiami came from behind and won their 4th straight game with a walk off single by Cesar Echaverry. Something unbelievable happened last Sunday in Field 4 at Tamiami Complex where Las Aguilas won their 4th straight game in a way none one could imagine. Nine innings were not enough for this two teams who came to this game unbeatable in their last 3 games. The game lasted 12 innings (4:43 min). Kyle Roberts started the afternoon for Las Aguilas against Habana who sent former Ace of Miami Dade College Michael Martinez. Roberts went 7.0 innings allowing 6 runs (3 ER) including a solo shot by former AA player Raciel Seijo. Angel Cortes threw 4 2/3 innings in relief and Ernesto Borbon got the win (1) after getting the last out in the top 12th.
 
Las Aguilas were looking to get the win to get closer to La Vinotinto who owns the last spot to qualify for the playoffs, meanwhile in Field 3 Vinotinto faced the Angels. Knowing the importance of this game this is how it went for Las Aguilas. The first innings of the game were dominated by Habana who jump to an early start getting 3 runs unearned (3-0HBN). In the bottom of the six Las Aguilas scored their first run (3-1 HBN). In the top seven Habana answered with 3 more runs (6-1 HBN). After that Las Aguilas immediately scored another run to put the game (6-2 HBN). Angel Cortes threw the 8th in relief retiring Habana's hitters 1,2,3. With 6 outs away of losing the game Las Aguilas scored a run with a double of Gilbert Garcia then Fabian Hance launched a enormous home run over the right field fence (6-5 HBN). Cortes came back to the mound and closed the ninth inning without problem. In the bottom part Tony Cash got on base by an error of third baseman allowing Cash go to second and later scoring with the help of Alex Gonzalez tying the game with two outs (6-6 TIED) By this time Vinotinto had lost (5-2) meaning that a victory for Las Aguilas could put the team just 1 game behind. Deinnys Suarez (AAA Cubs) and Ariel Beltran (AAA Orioles) pitched during the extra frame for Habana while Cortes was dominating. After 3 innings with no actions and more controversial calls against Las Aguilas. in the top 12 Habana took advantage of Cortes fatigue and scored 3 runs out of him. Ernesto Borbon came to get the last out for Las Aguilas leaving the game (9-6 HBN). In the bottom 12 Suarez kept his dominances striking out Hance and Renzo Rodriguez. With two outs Coach Cabrera send to pinch hit Luis Ramos for Cash Ramos hit a line drive to center field for a single, following this Pablo Abreu pinch hit for Angel Mestre, Pablo hit a triple bringing Ramos home and putting the game (9-7 HBN). Ruben Paredes pinch hit for Adelso Boya, Paredes got to first because of a catcher interference. Paredes stole second putting the tying run in scoring position. After a wild pitch of Suarez, Abreu scored and Paredes moved to third, Alex Gonzales manage to get a BB after being behind 0-2 in the count. Cesar Echaverry came to hit and Suarez was substituted by Raciel Seijo. At the first pitch Gonzales took off and stole 2nd base putting then the tying run at 3rd and winning run at 2nd. After a extremely high strike called and the count in 0-2 Echaverry hit a line over the SS bringing both runs home and giving the win to Las Aguilas (10-9 AGL).
 
Putting themselves only 1 game behind La Vinotinto, the team is ready to face them this Sunday. Two of the next three games are against La Vinotinto. If Las Aguilas managed to win both games that will mean that Las Aguilas will advance to the playoffs.
