Another Preseason Game for Las Aguilas
With still 41 days between today and Opening Day Las Aguilas keep practicing and preparing for next season. The team played their fith game of the pre-season today. There are still a lot of questions to be answered before the season start like: Who is playing 1st? Is Gabriel and Xavier really leaving or they staying for next campaign? Who is playing the corners OF?
Those are things that we will figure out the next 3 and last games before season kick off.
Good news is that the pitching is looking really sharp. With the addition of new arms like Michael Vazquez, Justin Munoz and Luis Aspuro (who haven't pitch but is already committed to the team). Hugo Duenas have returned with the team and pitch a couple of game showing he still has it. Also Jorge Fernandez have show a lot of improvement in the last 5 weeks and last but not least Angel Cortes who is a veteran in this league already.
With this 6 pitchers Las Aguilas confidence going to next season.

Aguilas vs Dbacks
Aguilas face the Dbacks from the AUBL in an exhibition game.
While 6 teams are still in a battle for the title in the Nica League Las Aguilas are getting ready for next season. With more than 25 players looking to make the 12 position player roster this will be a war for the rest of the pre-season.
A lot of questions come in to this pre-season after starters Fabian Hance, Angel Cortes and formers team mvp Xavier Gomez and Kyle Roberts will not be with the team at the beginning of the season.

Las Aguilas del Tamiami came from behind and won their 4th straight game with a walk off single by Cesar Echaverry. Something unbelievable happened last Sunday in Field 4 at Tamiami Complex where Las Aguilas won their 4th straight game in a way none one could imagine. Nine innings were not enough for this two teams who came to this game unbeatable in their last 3 games. The game lasted 12 innings (4:43 min). Kyle Roberts started the afternoon for Las Aguilas against Habana who sent former Ace of Miami Dade College Michael Martinez. Roberts went 7.0 innings allowing 6 runs (3 ER) including a solo shot by former AA player Raciel Seijo. Angel Cortes threw 4 2/3 innings in relief and Ernesto Borbon got the win (1) after getting the last out in the top 12th.
Las Aguilas were looking to get the win to get closer to La Vinotinto who owns the last spot to qualify for the playoffs, meanwhile in Field 3 Vinotinto faced the Angels. Knowing the importance of this game this is how it went for Las Aguilas. The first innings of the game were dominated by Habana who jump to an early start getting 3 runs unearned (3-0HBN). In the bottom of the six Las Aguilas scored their first run (3-1 HBN). In the top seven Habana answered with 3 more runs (6-1 HBN). After that Las Aguilas immediately scored another run to put the game (6-2 HBN). Angel Cortes threw the 8th in relief retiring Habana's hitters 1,2,3. With 6 outs away of losing the game Las Aguilas scored a run with a double of Gilbert Garcia then Fabian Hance launched a enormous home run over the right field fence (6-5 HBN). Cortes came back to the mound and closed the ninth inning without problem. In the bottom part Tony Cash got on base by an error of third baseman allowing Cash go to second and later scoring with the help of Alex Gonzalez tying the game with two outs (6-6 TIED) By this time Vinotinto had lost (5-2) meaning that a victory for Las Aguilas could put the team just 1 game behind. Deinnys Suarez (AAA Cubs) and Ariel Beltran (AAA Orioles) pitched during the extra frame for Habana while Cortes was dominating. After 3 innings with no actions and more controversial calls against Las Aguilas. in the top 12 Habana took advantage of Cortes fatigue and scored 3 runs out of him. Ernesto Borbon came to get the last out for Las Aguilas leaving the game (9-6 HBN). In the bottom 12 Suarez kept his dominances striking out Hance and Renzo Rodriguez. With two outs Coach Cabrera send to pinch hit Luis Ramos for Cash Ramos hit a line drive to center field for a single, following this Pablo Abreu pinch hit for Angel Mestre, Pablo hit a triple bringing Ramos home and putting the game (9-7 HBN). Ruben Paredes pinch hit for Adelso Boya, Paredes got to first because of a catcher interference. Paredes stole second putting the tying run in scoring position. After a wild pitch of Suarez, Abreu scored and Paredes moved to third, Alex Gonzales manage to get a BB after being behind 0-2 in the count. Cesar Echaverry came to hit and Suarez was substituted by Raciel Seijo. At the first pitch Gonzales took off and stole 2nd base putting then the tying run at 3rd and winning run at 2nd. After a extremely high strike called and the count in 0-2 Echaverry hit a line over the SS bringing both runs home and giving the win to Las Aguilas (10-9 AGL).
Putting themselves only 1 game behind La Vinotinto, the team is ready to face them this Sunday. Two of the next three games are against La Vinotinto. If Las Aguilas managed to win both games that will mean that Las Aguilas will advance to the playoffs.
Oh Boy Oh Boy Oh BOYA, 3rd Straight!!!
The team has won 3 straight games and they are not done yet. With La Vinotinto wining against Caribes, Las Aguilas are still 2.0 games behind Vinotinto with a hand full of games left. Las Aguilas (6-9) have 2 of their last 5 games against La Vinotinto (8-8) were everything could be defined.
Kyle Roberts is Schedule to start Sunday's game against Habana who are fighting for the best record in the league just one game behind Almendares. Coach Cabrera after the game said, "nothing will be easy, the next five games will be tough, but we like that, we don't want anything easy, all of our wins have been earned and we feel comfortable about ourselves, the boys are doing their job and it doesn't get any exciting than this".
Game 17 will be at 2:30 PM Field 8. Do not miss it.

With this victory and a lost of La vinotinto against Almendares, Las Aguilas are now only 2 games behind La Vinotinto for that last spot in the playoffs. Things are getting interesting at the end of the season for both teams. With only 6 games left (not counting game under protest) for Las Aguilas they will face twice La Vinotinto to fight for that 3rd place in their division.
Las Aguilas have allowed only one run in their last 3 wins. And have scored 24 times. Next game is this sunday against Bravos del Callao who also are fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Lets see if Las Aguilas can keep it going a make it 3 straight. SP Jorge Fernandez.

Aguilas Aplastan a Caribes
Estrenando nuevo uniforme Las Aguilas del Tamiami dieron knockout a Caribes con un marcador de 15-0. Los bates Aguiluchos despertaron en el ultimo encuentro de la temporada regular entre estos dos conjuntos. Fabian Hance capitalizo la ofensiva con un triple, un doble y un sencillo. Xavier Gomez aporto dos triples y Adelso Boya en su primer partido luego de su operacion conecto un doble y un triple. Las Aguilas no dejaron de batear desde el inicio del partido hasta su temprano final en el 7mo. Por el monticulo aguilucho estuvo abriendo el derecho Kyle Roberts quien lanzo 5 entradas permitiendo solo dos imparables. Kyle con estas 5 entradas en blanco redujo su efectividad a 2.30 colocandose entre las mejores 10 de la liga. La 6ta entrada fue lanzada por Angel Cortes quien se integro al monticulo el pasado domingo. Cortes ha participado en las 3 temporadas de las Aguilas. Por otro lado tambien se espera este domingo la integracion de un lanzador nudillista derecho para reforzar el bullpen para el resto de temporada que queda.
Luego de las integraciones de Juan Berrios y Gilberto Garcia la ofensiva aguilucha ha aumentado cada partido.
Este domingo Las Aguilas buscan su 4ta Victoria frente a un Almendares quienes llegan con una sola derrota en toda la temporada. El primer partido entre estos dos equipos termino con marcador de 10-3 a favor de Almendares (llamado entonces Matagalpa).

Juan Berrios keep being hot with the bat, now he have single in every game he has played so far and RBI one more run. Shortstop Xavier Gomez was taken out of the game in the last inning for precaution coach Cabrera Said "He is not injured, he was filling a little groin and we didn't want to take a risk so we left him rest the last inning". Cabrera also said that he is expecting Gomez to play next game.
Las Aguilas still are 3.5 games behind La Vinotinto for that last spot in the playoffs with only 7 games left including 2 against La Vinotinto, the team will have to put themselves in a position to win as many as they can if they want to classified to the playoffs. Next week Las Aguilas face Los Angeles in a game that will be fun to watch. DO NOT MISS IT.
GAME 13
OHHHH SEPTEMBER IS HERE
Not only in MLB there is tension and drama in september. Las Aguilas are just 2.5 games behind Vinotinto for the last spot for the playoffs (not including game under protest).
Aguilas Face division Leader Almendares for the second time in the season. Kyle Roberts will take the mound for Las Aguilas and will be in charged to control the bats from Almendares who have lost only one of their first 12 games. First time this two teams faced the final score was 10-3 in favor to Almendares (Called Matagalpa by that time). Adelso Boya homered with one on base. Things got heated up between this two teams after a player from Matagalpa started a arguing with Fabian Hance at the enda one player from each team got ejected, also Head Coach Cabrera got ejected after arguing with home plate umpire Ferreas.
Las Aguilas are still fighting for the 3rd and last spot for the playoff. Right now the third place in the EAST division is own by La Vinotinto just 2.5 games over Las Aguilas with 9 more games to go.
